Clogs come back when they're only pushed through instead of removed. We match the tool to the pipe — hand augers for fixtures, machine cables and hydro-jetting for main lines — and we can run a camera down the line to show you exactly what caused the backup.
If more than one fixture is backing up, the blockage is usually in the main line, and our sewer line inspection and repair team takes it from there. A toilet that clogs again and again may be a worn fixture — see toilet repair and replacement.
Signs you need drain cleaning & clog removal
- Sinks, tubs or showers draining slowly
- Gurgling from drains or toilets
- Water rising in one fixture when another is used
- The same drain clogging again and again
- Sewer smell from basement floor drains
How it works
- We check which fixtures are affected to separate a local clog from a main-line blockage.
- We clear the line with an auger, cable machine or hydro-jet.
- Optional camera inspection confirms the pipe is clear and undamaged.
- You get simple advice to keep it from coming back.
What affects the cost of drain cleaning?
Every job gets a flat, written price after diagnosis. These are the main factors that move that price:
- Which line is blocked — one fixture or the building's main line
- Access: an easy clean-out versus pulling a toilet
- The method needed: hand auger, machine cable or hydro-jetting
- Whether a camera inspection is needed to confirm the line
How to prevent problems
- Never pour cooking grease down the sink — let it cool and toss it
- Use hair catchers in tubs and showers
- Flush only toilet paper — "flushable" wipes don't break down
- Book main-line cleaning every 1–2 years if roots or grease keep returning

Frequently asked questions
Are chemical drain cleaners safe for my pipes?
We don't recommend them, especially in older Queens buildings with cast-iron or galvanized pipe. They can damage the pipe and rarely clear the whole blockage.
What is hydro-jetting?
A high-pressure water jet that scours grease, scale and roots off the inside of the pipe. It's the best fix for recurring main-line clogs.
Do you clean main sewer lines?
Yes. If several fixtures back up at once, the problem is usually the main line — see our sewer line repair service.
